Hi! My name is José Alex Reyes, and I am 17 years old. I was born and raised in Burlington, North Carolina, and am a senior at Cummings High School, planning to go to college and major in Communications/Public Relations with a minor in Advertising. Coming from core values of respect, loyalty, love, clarity, and creativity, I am a part of many clubs and organizations in my school and out of school such as College Ambassadors, Multicultural Club, Elon Academy and It Takes A Village Project. These organizations have shaped me to give back to my community and help raise awareness on the importance of higher education, and I am planning to be a college advisor after college. Throughout my high school career, I realized the big importance on mental health issues and want to work to break the negative stigma on mental health and provide many resources to local communities, especially to the Latinx community. I have learned a lot from my family and friends who I dedicate a lot of my success to throughout my many years of life who I consider my family.
